La Piedra Mágica is a story that weaves together Nicaragua’s Indigenous heritage with the voices of native bees. Through a black bee that tells the story of Chief Diriangén and the resistance of the Chorotega, Nicarao, and Chontal peoples against colonization, the tale honors the Indigenous and Afro-descendant roots that flow through every Nicaraguan child. With tenderness and strength, it invites children to find their own "magic stone": dignity, their roots, and the pride that comes from knowing where they come from.
